Reorganization of Animal Care Services

Animal Care Services has been divided into a service center for terrestrial animals (Terrestrial Animal Care Services) and a unit that fulfills the animal care compliance responsibilities (Animal Welfare Services). Vertebrate animal research activities at the University of Oregon has undergone some changes in order to: 1) increase efficiency in fulfilling our regulatory responsibilities with as little burden on researchers as possible, 2) strengthen our ability to provide resiliency and continuity should a disaster occur that interrupts animal care activities, and 3) reduce any financial conflicts between animal husbandry and compliance activities.
